The personnel that support Universal Space Systems, LLC come from a broad
background representing numerous educational degrees, colleges/universities, military branches and
Aerospace corporations. What they have in common, however, are two things - 1)
they have a passion, unique
understanding and perspective about things that fly and go into space and 2)
they have actually worked in America's human spaceflight programs for the Space
Shuttle and International Space Station. Human
spaceflight is a very unforgiving environment and it is the knowledge and
insight of these individuals into that area that make our Web sites, and in
particular the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report, such valuable tools to
anyone who plans on becoming a future space traveler. Because of this group of
people, we are able to deliver in one central location what we feel are unique
products and services about the Space Tourism Industry without equal, that you
will find nowhere else without doing thousands of hours of research in all types
of media and consulting with individuals like the ones listed here.

Over 30 years experience in Information
Technology
and Aerospace. This
involved activity in technical
management, project management, systems integration, software test,
validation & programming. Experience includes work in both private
industry (Oil & Gas) and government sectors (worked with NASA
on America's human spaceflight programs). In Aerospace alone I have 23 years of work history including 15+ years in
Management. I have worked in the NASA Mission Control Center (MCC), used
to monitor Space Shuttle missions, supporting computer mainframes and then the transition to a distributed
computer network. I also managed software development for the computer
laptops (Portable Computer System - PCS) that provide command and
control of the International Space Station (ISS). My last activity was in Flight Crew
Equipment/Extravehicular Activity (FCE/EVA) managing professional flight
integrators (Mission Managers) and Engineers ensuring that all flight
manifested hardware was in the correct flight configuration, ready and available to support the
Astronaut/Cosmonaut crews.

40 years experience in Aerospace related work. Even
before he began his career, while he was a student at Texas A&M, for
his senior
design project Rich developed an innovative design concept for a
universal docking collar which he and the A&M faculty presented to
NASA.
Rich's long list of contributions to the American Space Program after
graduation include:
- Designed boom deployment mechanisms for the
Science platform and the Radioactive Thermoelectric Generator (RTG)
for the Voyager spacecraft.
- Assisted
in the design of Voyager's plume shield.
